Radar: Restaurantacular, Casa Loma Music & Art Series, Frische Magazine Launch Party, Sarah Teitel Brain Paintings

FOOD | Restaurantacular
The heritage village of Mount Pleasant hosts a doors open event for local restaurants, patisseries and cafes to showcase their foods and goods for low prices that will please pocketbooks and palettes. The public is welcomed into local businesses at noon today to sample foods priced at $2, $4 and $6. Participants include Cheese Emporium, Granite Brewery, Lollicakes and many more popular retailers in the neighbourhood. The event runs until 9PM so come hungry and pace yourself.

MUSIC | Mostly Unplugged: Casa Loma Music & Art Series
Casa Loma launches a new summer initiative that takes young musical talents and places them in a performance venue in the historical gardens of Austin Terrace. Mostly Unplugged is Casa Loma's music and art series that takes place on the last Tuesday of each summer month with headlining musical acts to entertain the crowds while enjoying the view overlooking the city. Toronto singer-songwriter Brianna Clarke opens the show tonight before turning the mic over to the audience. BBQ and tapas platters will be available along with a cash bar on the Casa Loma terrace. If you're a musician, come prepared for the open mic!

BOOKS & LIT | Frische Magazine Launch Party
The young, brave and fucking fabulous digital magazine Frische is throwing a party and inviting all of Toronto to celebrate. With the launch of their first issue hot off the presses and fresh on your laptop screen, the magazine hosts a soiree at Bambi's on Dundas tonight. The radical minded will gather around 9PM for drinks and a look at what's inside the city's newest fashion and arts zine.

ART | Sarah Teitel Brain Paintings
Borrowing MRI images and combining them with painted shapes and architectural elements, local artist Sarah Teitel explores all elements of the human brain. Teitel's detailed paintings transform images from a medical perspective into art work for the home. Brain Paintings opens at Hangman Art Gallery tonight where it will be on display until July 15th.
