BOOKS & LIT | Brockton Writers Series
Tonight, the Brockton Writers Series presents a great gathering of authors sharing their work, preceded by a networking event. If you have any questions about the writing biz, or are looking to make some connections, be sure to arrive at this event for 6:30pm, which is when the networking portion will take place, with special guest Margaret Bryant, hosted by May Lui. This evening's readings will feature Maureen Hynes, Hal Niedzviecki (author and creator of Broken Pencil), Sheniz Janmohamed and Angie Abdou.

DANCE | Frequency
A special "double premier" happens tonight at TO's Citadel Theatre: Tiger Princess Dance Projects unleashes two of its latest works upon us: "Frequency" and "Weave, Part One." Both works feature the choreography of Yvonne Ng, and the talents of dancers Zhenya Cerneacov, MairĂŠad Filgate, Amy Hampton, Meredith Thompson, Brendan Wyatt and Ng herself, as well. Erin Donovan has scored the music along with sound design by John D.S. Adams.

FILM | Green Screens: White Water, Black Gold
An interesting documentary screening tonight at NFB Mediatheque: "White Water, Black Gold." This film investigates the potential impact that the Alberta Tar Sands' expansion could be having on the country's water supply. This battle of water versus oil is presented by David Lavallee as he travels Western Canada and the Athabasca River.

MUSIC | Rock n' Relief ft. Lacerda, Morning Thieves, The Danger Bees & more!
Music saves the day, once again! Tonight at the Horseshoe, Rock 'n' Relief goes down! Several performers and bands will converge to raise funds for a worthy cause: The Gatehouse, an organization devoted to helping families affected by child abuse. On stage tonight: Mary Stewart, Jimmie Cover, The Danger Bees, Morning Thieves, and Lacerda. There will also be a silent auction, and a photo booth. Come out and support a good cause!
