Sam the Record Man sign

Feist the latest musician to step up for the Sam's sign

Feist is the latest Toronto music celeb to plead with Ryerson University to honor their promise to resurrect the Sam the Record Man sign. Feist, hopping the open letter writing trend that's taken music by storm this fall, penned her own open appeal and posted it to the SOS: Save our Sam the Record Man Sign Facebook page earlier today. The indie star follows in the heels of Geddy Lee of Rush, who wrote a letter in defense of the sign earlier this month.

Ryerson, who have been hiding the sign away from the media's prying eyes, finally let Councillor Josh Matlow get a peek earlier this week, and Matlow then tweeted a photo of the sign as proof that, contrary to rumours that have been circulating, it has not been destroyed. So, who will be the next big Toronto name to step up to the plate? Maybe someone who just celebrated his birthday?

Here's what Feist had to say.
