Dandi Wind with Woodhands at Wrongbar

If you are staying in the city this long weekend and looking for something fun, you might want to check out Dandi Wind this Saturday at Wrongbar.

Dandi Wind is the long time collaboration of Dandilion Wind Opaine (vocals) and Szam Findlay (music), who started with experimental art installations and evolved into a great performance band.

After extensively touring Europe and North America they have created a good reputation for both their trouble-making antics and memorable live shows.

When I see photos of Dandilion Wind Opaine I can't help but think of a contemporary version of Nina Hagen, and ever since I saw Spike Lee's movie Summer of Sam, I've always wondered what it would've been like to go to an early 70's punk show in NY or Berlin.

I have a feeling that seeing Dandi Wind live might be as close as it gets to that experience.
