Camera problems aside, the album release party for T-dot crooner Wade O. Brown at Revival last night was a cool event.

So I'm chilling in VIP (you know how I do), and tempting fate by helping myself to the crackers and cheese (I'm lactose intolerant) when it hits me: I could probably count the number of Toronto-based R&B crooners (with full-length albums) on one hand. This needs to change.

Enter Wade O. Brown. Even though Brown was actually born in Detroit, he's based here now and has been such a fixture in the local R&B/Soul scene that he gets a pass. The new album, All Night, All Love ( a follow up to 2002's warmly received Complete) is pretty tight.

It's less "blow your freaking mind," and more "this is a cool vibe." Given that it's V-Day, if you're looking for sweet vocals, sensual but tasteful melodies and a sexy soundtrack for funky frolicking with your significant other, Brown's your man.
