Change Lingerie bra

The Battle of the Bra

Lingerie and I aren't friends. We started as bitter enemies and now are working on an uneasy truce. I'm a small-breasted girl and I've always had a hard time finding nice bras that fit. This battle has definitely skewed my perception of lingerie; I ignore it. This indifference has even lead to bloggers scolding me about my lack of lingerie related posts at my blog.

I spent so many years in ill-fitting garments that eventually I gave up. I even boycotted the bra for a few years and went without. I grew tired of the silhouette that going braless produced and I needed to find some underwire somewhere. Major department stores couldn't help me and I had to figure things out on my own. Once I figured out my approximate size, finding bras was a nightmare. They were never in stock and I grew bitter. That's when I decided to hit the specialty boutiques.

A professional bra-fitter is a girl's best friend. Most women are wearing the wrong bra size. They are there to help you find the perfect one, ensure that it fits correctly and makes you look great. I discovered this was a pricey venture. Many of the bras I liked where expensive and I even spent $100 on one. For the record, it's the best bra I've ever owned.

I was describing my battle of the bra with a friend of mine and she told me that I should visit a client of hers. She set up an appointment for me at Change on Queen West. This Scandinavian company recently setup shop in Canada. I had seen the company's products at the specialty shops but I never purchased anything.

Change Lingerie bra

Change provides all the elements of a specialty boutique without the large price tag. Professional bra fitters are available to ensure you get the best fit. All shapes and sizes are available from sizes 30 - 44 and cups A - J. They have all kinds of styles too, from lacy to utilitarian. Price points are very attractive with items ranging from $10 - $200. Most bras I noticed were in the $30 - $60 range. In addition to lingerie, Change carries swimwear and loungewear.

My fitter was very pleasant and made the experience of standing semi naked in front of a complete stranger easy. She brought me a small selection of about six bras of varying styles from the store. I managed to find one that fit correctly and liked of the bunch; some styles aren't for my body type. It wasn't lacy but utilitarian and minimal, the way I like it. I didn't try on the whole store but I saw some other styles I really liked.
