DC Sample Sale's Spring Event

DC Sample Sales' spring sale is on right now.

The VIP Sale took place today (why they dub it "VIP" is beyond me, as anyone who knows about it can go...) but the actual sale will be going on for another two days. But, to be honest, pickings were slim when I dropped in this afternoon. When I mentioned this to the staff, I was told that merchandise had been "held up at the border" and to check back later. Uh huh. A real organized bunch, eh?

Tops were, for the most part, your basic tanks and tees, with a random smattering of slinky clubbing shirts of the borderline tacky variety. There was a decent selection of designer jeans (Joe's Jeans, Citizens, True Religion, 575, etc) but only a few of each size per brand were available, and the styles were, for the most part, from seasons past. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but when you advertise a sample sale to have "the very latest", you better have the very darn latest. And, no, that doesn't mean bellbottomed Silvers finished with faux pixie dust.

It doesn't matter if the prices are right when the selection's so humdrum.

Fashionistas, you have been warned.
