Illyria Sample Sale

Attention fashionistas. Designer Illyria Pestich is having a sample sale today and tomorrow from 12p-6p. I checked it out earlier today, and if you're in need of a unique summer piece to wear out, you should drop by.

The prices have been cut significantly; there are dresses for around 125$ and tops around 75$. The designs are feminine; draping, touchable fabrics in simple and elegant shapes. Most of what's available is clearly designed for going out, Illyria's distinct and elegant style would be wasted slouching around the house (although there were a few lounging pieces available). She's looking to turn heads.

Her most popular piece, and the one of which she's most proud, is a Grecian top that can be worn six different ways; the versatile yet simple design has led her to maintain it as part of her collection in light of it's perennial popularity.

Illyria told me that she's having the sale in part to reintroduce herself as a designer to Toronto; she's returning after a brief hiatus and the development of a business team, which now includes a PR rep, graphics designer, and an assistant director.

After six years of designing, Illyria says her style has evolved, but maintains a look that is uniquely her own, perhaps the bold and confident feeling she seeks to evoke in the women wearing her styles.

Illyria Design sample sale is found at 364 Richmond St. W, suite 501 (1 block south of Peter and Queen)
