Love and Hope: LOVE (late!) with Love Injection and Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy

LOVE AND HOPE:

LOVE Sometime around 1969 David Mancuso had a chance encounter with a speaker that would forever change dance floors. The speaker in question was the Klipschorn corner speaker, then built in an unassuming garage in Hope, Idaho.

The next year, on Valentine's Day, 1970 Mancuso sent invitations marked LOVE SAVES THE DAY to friends in what would become the first ever Loft Party.

It's in this spirit as Valentine's nears that we are ecstatic to welcome Mancuso's protege and loft regular, Colleen 'Cosmo' Murphy.

Together Mancuso and Murphy co-produced the compilation series David Mancuso Presents The Loft Volumes One and Two, and worked together on David's record label The Loft Audiophile Library of Music. Colleen has been a radio host, DJ and programme director since the age of fourteen and today hosts 'Cosmodelica' and 'Classic Album Sundays Worldwide' on Worldwide FM and 'This Women's Work' series for Public Radio International. She is the writer and host of BBC 6 Music’s album series 'Sounds of a City' and BBC Radio 4’s documentary series 'Turntable Tales.'

Joining Colleen are Barbie Bertisch and Paul Raffaele, founders of Love Injection Fanzine & Records. They are DJs, producers, audio enthusiasts, and archivists residing in New York City with an infectious passion for dance music and its surrounding culture.

Toronto's own Jan Afif sets the stage!

Come one, Come all, Spread the Love!
