Free Screening: Mental Health Series: Darkness and Hope: Depression, Sports, and Me

Mental Health Series: Since 2010, Bell Let’s Talk has helped open the floodgates of conversation about mental health. Leading up to and on the annual Let’s Talk Day, we are showcasing free docs that aim to break the stigma around mental illness.

Celebrated athletes, including Olympian Clara Hughes, Stanley Cup champion Stéphane Richer, and World Series winner Darryl Strawberry, open up to TSN Broadcaster and Off the Record host Michael Landsberg about their personal battles with depression.

While facing his own mental health challenges, Landsberg brings insight and intelligence to an issue that often lives in the shadows of the professional sports world, shining a light on the stories of perseverance, vulnerability and humanity of our athletic heroes.

Join the conversation in a post-screening panel hosted by Rendez Vous with MadnessProgram Director Geoff Pevere with filmmakers, subjects, and experts.

In recognition of the potentially triggering content of the participating films, supportive counsellors will be present at each screening.

Tickets: FREE (maximum 2 tickets per person)

In partnership with Bell Let’s Talk and Workman Arts.
