Toronto to get its first vegan pizzeria and snack bar

Toronto is about to get its first vegan pizzeria and snack bar. Apiecalypse Now! recently closed on Markham and is relocating and revamping as a vegan pizzeria and snack bar at the address formerly home to La Burrita across from Christie Pits.

You'll find the new pizzeria and snack bar open sporadically in advance of the grand opening slated for the end of this month. In addition to the snack bar, a licensed dining room/event space/bar on the second floor is currently in the works for later this summer.

Whole pies as well as slices will be on the menu, along with popular park-friendly concessions including baked goods, vegan soft serve, milkshakes, cotton candy and doughnuts. As if that's not enough, the place will also host a vegan sandwich start-up called Grains Grains Grains.

Meanwhile the old bakeshop on Markham might be up for grabs come September. Until then it'll be used as a community kitchen and incubator for vegan food businesses and start-ups.
