TTC wants you to take photos of misbehaving riders

In order to ramp up safety on Toronto's subways, streetcars and buses, the TTC announced it's working on a camera application that'll let passengers take discreet photos of badly behaved riders.

The app, which will likely be released sometime later this year, is supposed to make it easier for Torontonians to report instances of harassment and vandalism, as well as service problems, reports the Toronto Star.

Will this app help make women travelling alone late at night feel more secure? Probably not. But today, the TTC Board is addressing women's safety, especially in light of the fact that so far this year, 35 sexual assaults were reported to the transit commissions - or as the Star writes, that equals about one every four days.
