Get the new 2011 Toronto neighbourhood maps

The 2011 Toronto neighbourhood maps are now out! For the past five years, theGentries has been creating maps of various Toronto neighbourhoods. These are pocket-friendly guides that highlight restaurants, cafes, stores and other local businesses you might be interested in checking out. This week, we've just releases the all new 2011 series of maps which includes a design refresh as well as a number of new neighbourhoods.

The top image gives an idea of what the front of the map looks like. It includes a map of the area, a legend of local businesses as well as some other information about the neighbourhood. The back of the map provides more detailed information (photos, address, phone, description etc.) on many of the businesses. The image below gives a general idea. For more images and information check out our Toronto maps page.

And returning from last year's series include maps for:

  • West Queen West, Ossington, Dundas West and Liberty Village

A big thanks to everyone who helped put the maps together this year especially The Office of Gilbert Li for the new design, Chris Thomaidis for the cover photography as well as James Kachan, Dennis Marciniak and many other photographers who took photos of the individual businesses.

For those looking to pick up a copy, the maps are available free of charge from many of the local businesses in each of the above neighbourhoods. By the end of the week, you should also be able to find them at select downtown Toronto hotels as well as at all Dark Horse Espresso and Crema Coffee locations. For those not currently in Toronto (or even those who are) who would like a complete set of the maps, we'll mail them to you anywhere in the world. Check this page for information on how to order.

And don't forget that our new theGentries iphone app is a handy companion to the maps. An Android app is also on the way soon.
