(Some) Highschool Dropouts to get a second chance
The Ontario Government today announced its rolling out a new program to enable highschool dropouts in select areas a chance to get some work done.
Teens between the ages of 16-19 will be able to do up to 27 weeks of paid work with a government organization while earning up to 10 highschool credits towards a diploma.
Two schools in the GTA, Lester B. Pearson Collegiate Institute in Scarborough and Father Henry Carr Catholic Secondary School in the northwest area of Toronto, are the first of a broader plan the government has to lower dropout rates in the province.
