Graffiti alley goes highbrow (sort of)

Spotted in graffiti alley recently is a bit different kind of art than the area is known for. Dissatisfied with a painting she was working on, Stina Dios and her boyfriend Liam Kearney decided to add it to the host of other unofficial art projects in the vicinity. Some of the comments on the Reddit Toronto board, where the photos were originally posted, question the decision to cover other artwork, but I think it's completely in keeping with ever-changing complexion of the alley.

Dare I say, even if it's not the most stunning painting (no doubt why Dios soured on it), the playful reversal is even a little Banksy-esque. And besides, it's not like it'll remain a permanent fixture — life on this "gallery wall" will likely be short lived. As of this morning, Kearney couldn't confirm if the piece was still up.
