The Centre Cannot Hold: Opening tonight

Avengers assemble: if you'd rather completely ignore my ludicrously well-thought-out film itinerary for tonight (as spelled out in last night's podcast), check out the opening for THE CENTRE CANNOT HOLD: Prospects for Suburbia, a new show curated by Toronto turbo-hottie Brenda Goldstein.

The exhibition questions whether our urban future is in fact suburban, and features works by Rose Bianchini, Jason Van Horne, and Anthea Foyer, among many others. I'm told that the Arbour Lake School and their suburban-yard trench-digging war reenactments are particularly enthralling.

The show runs April 20 - June 5 at the Toronto Free Gallery, 660 Queen Street East. The opening is tonight at 8:00.
